Welcome

Welcome to my website, I am Sylvia Davey BA Hons.

I am a Scottish born and trained artist. My work includes hand-pulled prints, collage, sculptural forms, and mixed media wall relief pieces. I create abstract, colourful and dynamic images which are inspired by microscopic plant remains and persistent cellular structures,

I grew up around Galloway's high forest and rugged coastline, a beautiful environment which left me with a deep respect and love for our natural world. I trained from a young age in my father’s studio pottery workshop, and later studied fine art sculpture and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. After graduating I moved to a cottage near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders, where I now live and work.

My studio near Jedburgh will be open to the public this Easter weekend 3rd to 6th April 10am to 4pm daily. Come and see new work and a few old favourites, including ceramic cats, sculptural work, pottery at sale prices, and original prints and work for the walls. I will also be taking advance orders for birdbaths.  Come and chat about my techniques and sources, enjoy the woodlands around the studio, and explore my studio.
